Abstract:

Trends toward better governance and greater accountability in the for-profit corporate world are raising corresponding expectations among not-for-profits. At the same time, recent financial market volatility, coupled with the recessionary business environment, has increased the potential liability of associations and other not-for-profit organizations and those who serve on their boards or in senior management positions. Directors and officers must understand their legal and fiduciary obligations for their organization’s decisions and actions and how to protect the organization's assets against claims. Learn how to develop risk management strategies that will minimize liability, gain a better understanding of indemnification obligations and best practices, and improve your knowledge of key issues in analyzing not-for-profit organization insurance coverage. Neal Gerber Eisenberg partner Angela R. Elbert is a featured speaker.
